The AEMPS CIMA application is an official tool that contains the most important data about the drugs that can be prescribed in Spain.
AEMPS CIMA is the result of a joint effort by the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products and the Pharmacy Association of Spanish Health Institutions. It is an electronic tool to facilitate the work of health professionals in the area of pharmacology.
It is intended for the use of health professionals and other users, such as patients and their families, to provide them with the information they need to know about the drugs that can be prescribed in Spain.
The information contained in this application is based on the data sheets (or product characteristics) that are part of the approval granted to the agency by the Medicines and Health Products Commission. The data sheets are a document that contain the description of the drug, its indications, dosage, contraindications and precautions, adverse reactions, pharmaceutical data, and properties of the drug.
